The Cabildo meets for the third time the Commission of Gypsy Women of Tenerife. The groups that represent them state that they suffer from different barriers, including psychological ones, to their full integration into island society.
The Insular Delegate Councilor for Equality, Priscila de León, chaired the third meeting in the Plenary Hall of the Insular Corporation, which was attended by a dozen gypsy women during a working day. They presented in this forum their impressions, concerns and needs about their reality.
Within the framework of the Insular Roundtable of the Gypsy People, the Cabildo maintains the commitment made with the entities of the Gypsy People to offer a space for debate where proposals have been drawn up that must define the actions to be carried out in the coming months.
The objective of this third meeting was to resume the work started by the Roma Women’s Commission in the previous meetings, held in September and November 2021.
