SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 24. (EUROPE PRESS) –
Agents of the Civil Guard of the UDAIFF Unit of the Tax and Borders Section of the Tenerife North Airport and Customs Surveillance of the Tax Agency have dismantled a distribution point for various types of drugs that was organized under the guise of a ‘cannabis club’ .
In addition, they have arrested one person and investigated three others for an alleged crime of drug trafficking in Fañabe (Adeje).
As a result of the inspections carried out at the fiscal inspection points carried out by the Civil Guard and the Tax Agency in the customs warehouses, several shipments of postal packages were detected, originating in the South of Tenerife, containing various amounts of drugs and that were being sent to Barcelona and Ibiza. For this reason, we proceeded to locate and identify the authors of those shipments.
The investigations led the investigators to an organized group that runs a ‘cannabis club’ that was being used as a cover for the sale of narcotic substances in the town of Fañabe (Adeje).
After the appropriate follow-ups and investigations, on June 15 a member of the group was arrested when he was trying to leave the island on a flight to Ibiza, carrying in his luggage a large sum of money and some 204 grams of marijuana in two vacuum packed bags. After the arrest, an entry and search was made both in the premises and in the house of the club’s owners, where a large amount of money, marijuana and hashish were seized.
After the seizures and the arrest, the drug retail point organized behind the legal appearance of the ‘cannabis club’ is considered dismantled.
The detainee was transferred to the offices of the Civil Guard of the North Airport of Tenerife, where proceedings were instructed, passing on the morning of June 16 to judicial disposition in the Court of Instruction No. 4 of La Laguna.
