The first night of Carnival dances in the streets of Santa Cruz de Tenerife ended with the assistance of eight people by the Carnival security and emergency device.
This first festive day started with the parade of the entourage of the Burial of the Sardine, at its end the musical performances began in different points of the carnival ring of the capital of Tenerife, the City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife reported this Friday in a statement.
Most of the people who attended this first carnival day gathered next to the stages and points with authorized music.
Although the emergency device was dimensioned to respond to any contingency, it was only necessary to attend to eight people; five men and three women for various reasons.
Half of those assisted required attention due to alcohol poisoning, although without major complications. One of those affected by this symptomatology is a minor.
Two other people suffered injuries as a result of falls and were treated at the medical post located in the facilities of the Hospital del Carnaval.
If it was necessary to refer a man, a member of a carnival group, to the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria due to cardiological problems.
Within this preventive and health device, a team works for the care of the youngest managed by the Spanish Red Cross, in which psychologists and social workers come together who, in coordination with the Local Police unit attached to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office, identify these young people and notify their legal guardians.
At Punto Violeta, which is installed these days in the Carnival Hospital, only three people, two women and one man, were given advice and information, although they did not require assistance from the personnel assigned to this service.
Regarding police work, the night presented no complications, although the City Council had to make this device compatible with the preventive operation deployed by the municipality to attend to the celebration of the San Juan bonfires.
Within the preventive plot, the Group of Canine Guides of the Local Police raised a dozen records last night for the possession or consumption of narcotic substances.
The Carnival Hospital will start its work again this Friday to face the development of the Cavalcade and from 7:00 p.m. the entire operation will be at their posts.
Before the Local Police will review the different traffic modifications necessary for this act.
Subsequently, the device will deal with the security and emergency care of the planned dances and will be joined by members of the Local Police, the National Police, the Tenerife Firefighters Consortium, the Civil Protection volunteer group and the Spanish Red Cross health personnel. .
