SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 23 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Insular Directorate of Tourism, will allocate two million euros to the renovation and improvement of the services of the network of tourist information offices on the Island, made up of 36 units that are distributed throughout the country insular and managed by both the insular Corporation and the town halls.
The president of the Cabildo, Pedro Martín, explained that with this renewal of the network of offices “we improve the image that we offer to tourists who visit Tenerife and modernize its resources with commonly used computer tools that will facilitate and take a further step in the provision of information services in one of the main channels of tourist attention that we have”.
The offices, indicated the president, “have to reinvent themselves to be true spaces of experiences, offering an image, equipment and services adapted to new consumption habits”.
For her part, the Island Director of Tourism of Tenerife, Laura Castro, stressed that the Cabildo intends to generate and sustain an image of global promotion of quality for the Island: “This renewal of the network will allow our visitors to obtain services of quality tourist information, with a unified and easily recognizable image in any location on the island where they are located”.
Laura Castro added that the work is aimed at improving the exterior and interior of the tourist information offices included in the Infoten Network, “carrying out an architectural and interior design renovation, as well as their digital transformation.”
He also explained that the investment program will be valid for five years, to be financed in the 2022-2026 annual installments, in coordination with the municipalities, with which bilateral agreements will be signed on the new operating conditions of the offices and the commitments assumed. by the parties, as well as the financing system for the actions to be carried out in them.
The program contemplates the execution of different improvement works according to the needs detected, in some offices their demolition and subsequent construction will be necessary, in the case of the tourist office of the Tenerife South airport, in which the previous dependencies have been demolished and and to the works of the new space for the attention of the tourists. The provision of more offices on the Island is also contemplated.
