SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 23 (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the delegated area of Foreign Action, and the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Cruz de Tenerife have presented today, Thursday, the Tenerife+Global program, aimed at small and medium-sized companies from Tenerife that want to start exporting, with the objective of advising and accompanying them in the process of searching for new clients outside the Canarian market.

The program will allow twenty SMEs on the Island to benefit from specialized and comprehensive advice from experts in foreign trade who will help them in their first phases of opening abroad. It also includes a personalized advice program so that they can enter the internationalization grant circuit.

The project consists of two phases, a dozen companies will be able to benefit from the first, which opens today. Until July 7, interested SMEs will be able to register through the website of the Chamber of Commerce. The other ten companies will be eligible for the program in the second call, scheduled for the month of September.

The CEO of Acción Exterior, Liskel Álvarez, pointed out that in recent years they have worked together with the Chamber to increase the number of exporting companies on the island through various programs to search for partners and clients, such as the Xpande program Digital, to enhance the online positioning of companies in international markets, or Tenerife Licita.

The island official clarified that these programs “seek to cover advanced needs and, today, there is no service that covers this prior preparation for companies that want to start exporting.”

“We understand the uncertainty that taking this step can generate without having previous experience, so through this program we want to accompany them throughout the process,” Liskel Álvarez clarified.

For the president of the Foreign Trade Commission of the Chamber of Commerce, Arturo Escuder, “internationalization continues to be a pending issue for our productive fabric. However, we must look at the data: there are currently around 8,000 Canarian companies that export abroad, a figure that has multiplied by 480% since 2000”.

“From the Chamber, we are committed to helping Canarian companies overcome these first obstacles and the delegated area of Foreign Action of the Cabildo has become a key partner for this task. Thanks to their support, we can boast of being the Chamber of Trade of the Canary Islands that carries out the most trade missions”, highlighted Arturo Escuder.

An export and import guide from the Canary Islands has recently been published, a document that includes the different procedures and customs formalities, a roadmap for any company that wishes to start marketing its product abroad. Now from the Cabildo and the cameral institution its portfolio of services is expanded with this new Tenerife+Global program.

The participating companies will have the comprehensive and personalized support of a team of experts for several months, where the first steps they must undertake to sell abroad will be defined: from an assessment of the viability of their international project, support in choosing the most suitable market for your product or service, advice on foreign trade as well as guidance on the aid and subsidies available to access these markets.
