V March against cancer in Tenerife to raise awareness against the disease

The Provincial Board of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) organizes the V edition of Tenerife Marching Against Cancer, a charity walk that will run through the streets of La Laguna on Saturday, July 2, starting at 10:00 a.m. The initiative has the support of the Laguna Town Hall, as well as collaborators and sponsors such as CaixaBank, Mutua Tinerfeña, Mr. Wonderful and Hospiten.

During the presentation of the event, the president of the AECC in the province of Tenerife, Andrés Orozco; the president of the OAD of La Laguna, Idaira Afonso; the director of CaixaBank’s Northeast Tenerife business area, Lisbeth Gutiérrez; the president of Mutua Tinerfeña, José Antonio López de Vergara; and the general director of Hospiten Spain, Rafael Navarro.

Orozco encourages families to go “to make visible the fight against this disease, of which 12,000 new cases are diagnosed every year in the Canary Islands.” He emphasizes that “it is fought with research, but also with the contribution of each one that we can also change with new life habits.”

The president of the OAD of Aguere conveys her gratitude “because the city can host such an important event to fight against a disease that can affect us all and with which we live daily.” She highlights “the importance of prevention, research and, above all, collaboration and support for individuals and families.”

For her part, CaixaBank’s director of Northeast Tenerife underlines the financial institution’s commitment to this solidarity walk in its five editions, “to give visibility to the work carried out by the AECC and to continue contributing to its programs”.

Tenerife marching against cancer will allow you to spend a morning of awareness and family entertainment. with the five kilometer walk through the pedestrian streets. The registration fee is 5 euros and can be done at the AECC headquarters in Santa Cruz and at the Base Deportes Natalia stores in La Laguna. In exchange, a shirt and a number will be given.
