The Cabildo urges that the City Council of Santa Cruz cede the necessary land to tender and start these works and convert the section of the island road TF-180 between the Vuelta de los Pájaros and the Vistabella viewpoint into a duly equipped urban crossing.
The first vice president and insular councilor for Highways, Enrique Arriaga, states that “in February the Highways area sent the draft agreement to the Local Corporation, four months later we still have not received a response.” To which he adds that “this action has, on the part of the insular Corporation, the necessary financial endowment to carry it out.” In addition, he adds that “for the Cabildo it is a fundamental and priority action that will improve traffic problems in the area and give more security to pedestrians who travel through this section of the general highway on a daily basis, but if the town hall does not its part it will be impossible to start the works.”
From the City Council, the Councilor for Infrastructures, Dámaso Arteaga, pointed out yesterday that they are working with the neighbors to make the land available that the Cabildo requests, which, the mayor recalled, “means expropriations, and that is a process that involves make land assessments. In July we met with the neighbors and we hope to complete the file”, he added.
