Metrotenerife, the Cabildo transport company, collaborates with the Athletes Without Borders association to promote the social inclusion of people with different abilities. As a result of the agreement signed by both entities, the accessibility of the tram will be brought closer to students from Santa Cruz and La Laguna through inclusive workshops.
Enrique Arriaga, island councilor for Mobility and president of Metrotenerife, thanks Athletes without Borders “for wanting to include the Tram in their program of 10 presentations at schools and institutes in both cities.”
The association will value the accessibility of this means of transport as well as the normalization of its use by people with disabilities through participatory dynamics. In this sense, Arriaga highlights the importance of this type of awareness actions among the island’s youth.
