A new party is born in Tacoronte

The former candidate and former secretary general of the PSOE of Tacoronte Carlos Medina Dorta registered on June 1, 2022 a new political partyto which the non-attached mayor would also be linked Sandra Ramos. Medina appears as general secretary of a political formation called We are Tacoronte and this step further stirs up the heated local political environment, where the PSOE still trying to get back together Sandra Left as General Secretary.

Carlos Medina He is very used to political ups and downs since 2013, when he was left alone in the PSOE by following the socialist discipline in the motion of censure that the mayor made short-lived Rudolph Leon, now back in the socialist party. PSOE candidate in 2011, 2015 and 2019, he had signed an agreement with NC and SSP that should make him mayor in June 2021. His party wanted him to agree with Ciudadanos (Cs) and, in December 2020, he opened a file of expulsion that blew up the Municipal Socialist Group and ended with the possibility of him accessing the Mayor’s Office. At the end of June 2021, the current mayor, Jose Daniel Diaz (NC)withdrew the powers from Medina, who was the first deputy mayor of Tacoronte and councilor for the areas of Economy and Treasury, Works and Services, Water and Electrification.

The Federal Commission of Ethics and Guarantees of the PSOE He dismissed the appeals filed by his councilors Carlos Medina Dorta and Sandra María Ramos Pérez and confirmed the expulsion of both, also at the end of June 2021. Since then they have been non-attached councillors.

In June 2022, Medina and Ramos take another step and register a political party that could become a new electoral alternative in the next local elections of 2023. A move that especially threatens the PSOEwhich sees how its electoral trick of the last 11 years changes cartel.

EL DÍA contacted this Tuesday, June 21, with Carlos Medinawho for the time being prefers not to make any statements about this new political project.
