The Criminal Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC) has dismissed the appeal filed by a man against the sentence of the Provincial Court of Santa Cruz de Tenerife that sentenced him to a five-year prison sentence for abusing sexually of his granddaughter, a minor, in Puerto de la Cruz.
The sentence, made public this Monday, relates that the events occurred for a little over five years, taking advantage of the convicted that his granddaughter spent a lot of time at home for work reasons for her mother and her father, who worked as a taxi driver.
Thus, on several occasions there was touching of various kinds, kisses, he even masturbated and made uncomfortable comments such as “what I would do to you” accompanied by lascivious and libidinous looks, and when the girl threatened to write the facts in his diary he warned her that she was “crazy” because they were going to put her in jail or “shoot her”.
The minor confessed the facts at a family meeting in 2018, shortly after her parents’ divorce, and she still continues with psychological support and recurring nightmares.
The sentence also includes probation for six years, the prohibition to approach the victim less than 300 meters and compensation of 13,000 euros.
