The rhythm, the color and the dance returned to Santa Cruz on a night in which Cariocas once again rose as the sovereign of this modality, as would happen in 2020. The second went to Rumberos, who improved remarkably compared to their previous contest and who had not received such a distinction since 2008, the third and runner-up were for Canarian Dancers and Bahía Bahitiare.
In the presentation section, he won the first Río Orinoco award on his return, the second went to Danzarines Canarios, who turned 50 in this edition. The third and second place went to Bahía Bahitiare and Cariocas, who got a double.
The night shone for the dynamism and the large influx of public that, although it did not reach the full house as planned, had a considerable number of fans. Valleiros and Río Oricono with their return together with the premiere of Abenaura and the absence of Joroperos, marked a different contest for an atypical carnival.
The event, which was fortunate to have Rebeca Paniagua as master of ceremonies, was the first of the Comparsas contests. The second, Rhythm and Harmonywill take place on February 26 at 8:00 p.m. on Avenida Francisco La Roche, which in this atypical edition will serve as the closing of the summer carnivals.
The prizes, in this edition, were the following:
Jose Gregorio El Chamo (Orinoco River): Geni Afonso
Danzarines Canarios received a badge for its 50th anniversary.
