The mayor of Buenavista del Norte, Antonio González Fortes (SSP), underlines that the “Buenavista Diversa” festival is a wonderful opportunity to mark the path of public policies of inclusion and diversity. An appointment reoriented from its fifth edition to “accommodate all the diversity that can be found in a society as complex as contemporary, beyond the approach that gave rise to this initiative, initially focused on functional diversity.”
“We think that Buenavista Diversa is a perfect opportunity to work with the diverse society in which we find ourselves. It is an important challenge for public administrations to always be as close as possible to reality, so that they can legislate and take measures that adapt in order to improve people’s lives”, details Antonio González.
Spaces to live
“Luckily, our society is becoming more diverse every day. If we do not attend to this reality, if we do not propose reflection exercises such as the ones that we propose to the entire society of Tenerife in this festival, if we do not create spaces where all people can coexist and be aware of our diversity, we would be proposing an incomplete government action» , acknowledges the Buenavista president.
The local government defends a vision of municipalism “as the current that can become the touchstone of change in the lives of citizens, the key that brings to the lives of each person the transformations that, without the intervention of municipalities, it would be very difficult to get it up and running. That is why Buenavista Diversa becomes “a wonderful opportunity to create those spaces for reflection and sharing that mark the way for us to take measures that translate into people being happier every day in our society and in our municipality. », points out the mayor of Buenavista del Norte.
