The jury finds guilty the man who confessed to having murdered his ex-partner and who hid his body in a septic tank in Tenerife

The Jury has declared this Thursday guilty of murder and breach of sentence to the man who confessed before the room that judged him in the Court of Santa Cruz de Tenerife that he killed his ex-partner in Santa Úrsula in July 2020 and then hid his body in a septic tank.

Unanimously, the court has found José Miguel QT guilty of these two charges, although it has also recognized the benefit of the extenuating confession.

Based on this verdict, the prosecutor, the accusation brought by the victim’s daughter, the lawyer from the Canary Islands Institute of Equality and the defense itself have requested that he be sentenced to 18 and a half years in prison and to pay compensation of €250,000.

At the opening of the trial, the accused admitted that he killed his former partner by performing a “mataleón” key and that he then called several family members and friends to dispose of the body.

He has detailed that he showed them the body and that no one helped him, except for one who, according to the account of the facts of the private prosecution, brought by the victim’s daughter, who was 18 years old at the time, convinced him by offering him cocaine and money to help clean up the crime scene.

José Miguel QT explained that the victim had gone to see him at his house at night, to avoid the surveillance of the Civil Guard because he had a restraining order in force after being convicted of assaulting her.

They were both consuming “cocaine, trankimazines and a lot of beer”, and at one point they argued and he, who does “more or less” martial arts, performed an immobilization maneuver on her back, pressing her neck, knowing that she was not she could defend herself and that she could suffocate her, as it happened.
