The Cabildo de Tenerife has completed the repair work on the roof of the Güímar regional swimming pool for a value of 196,702 euros.
This action, included in the Insular Swimming Pool Program, has been financed by the insular corporation, while the City Council assumed the costs of drafting the project (11,840 euros).
The reception ceremony for the work was attended by the insular councilor for Municipal Cooperation and Housing, Zebenzuí Chinea; the mayor of Güímar, Gustavo Pérez and the Councilor for Sports, Cándido Gómez, pick up a note from the Cabildo.
Zebenzuí Chinea recalled that the roof had “serious oxidation problems since 2013, which caused water to leak into the roof on rainy days and affected the firmness of the sheets.”
The Minister stressed, therefore, the importance of these works, “which will provide a solution to an urgent problem in the municipality and will significantly improve the quality of life of the residents who make use of these facilities.”
Gustavo Pérez, for his part, emphasized that “the municipal swimming pool requires a comprehensive reform” and “an unavoidable step” was the conditioning of the roof.
“Thanks to the Cabildo this action has been achieved, however, the City Council will continue with more actions so that its users have more and better services within this sports facility,” he commented.
