SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 14. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands confirms a new case confirmed by a diagnosis of monkeypox without new diagnoses being added for study in the last 24 hours.
This means that there are a total of 26 confirmed cases since the start of the health alert declaration, of which 20 were detected in Gran Canaria and six in Tenerife.
All the cases are having mild symptoms and remain in home isolation receiving follow-up by Primary Care, the Ministry points out in a note.
In addition, there is a probable case, pending confirmation, reported in Gran Canaria and three suspected cases, pending confirmation, which have been detected in Gran Canaria (two) and Lanzarote.
The protocol of the Ministry of Health classifies cases between probable and suspected depending on whether the patient meets clinical criteria and epidemiological criteria (probable cases) or if it only presents clinical criteria and in such case it is considered a suspected case.
