A web platform will make citizen participation more accessible

The council throw one web platform to make citizen participation accessible. The CEO of the area, Nauzet Gugliotta, assures that this channel is added to those already available by the Island Corporation and, underlines, “seeks to become a multi-entity portal that provides support and network support to other administrations.”

The website www.cabildoabierto.tenerife.es this now available to participate in open consultations and learn about the projects that are underway in the insular Corporation comfortably and free. The goal is for it to also become a multi-entity portal.

Gugliotta recalls that “for years we have had a Strategic Insular Framework for Citizen Participation that among its axes promotes the promotion of participatory culture and the development of channels.”

The counselor also values that “the Island Modernization Plan seeks to transfer the Cabildo de Tenerife to the 21st century and this platform is just one more advance in that regard.”

In the same line of work, the Code of Good Governance is also sought, with ethical standards that imply, acknowledges Gugliotta, “going beyond the participation established in the standards and laws because we have to encourage real participation and effective, direct listening to the concerns of citizens and organized groups.

In 2021, the Cabildo reached almost 13,500 people directly or indirectly through participation policies. “During the pandemic we had to face the challenge of avoiding face-to-face attendance with health restrictions, but we saw the opportunity to transform participation,” details the Diversity advisor.

The head of the ICT Planning and Strategies Technical Service of the Insular Directorate of Modernization, Clemente Barreto, toured the web platform that can be freely accessed. «Does not require prior registration, whenever you want to consult. Now, to participate, to provide an opinion or to make contributions about a process, requires a very simple one, » he explains. Currently, www.cabildoabierto.tenerife.es has eight proposals open.
