SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 13. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife launches an online platform to make citizen participation more accessible through www.cabildoabierto.tenerife.es.
The aim is for it to also become a multi-entity portal that provides support to other administrations to carry out their own queries and submit proposals.
The CEO of Citizen Participation and Diversity, Nauzet Gugliotta, recalled during his presentation that this new platform “is one more channel that adds to those that the Cabildo already has available to encourage the participation of Tenerife citizens in matters public and of general interest.
Along these lines, he said that the Cabildo has for years had a Strategic Insular Framework for Citizen Participation that among its axes promotes the promotion of participatory culture and the development of participation channels.
The counselor also recalled that “the Island Modernization Plan seeks to transfer the Cabildo de Tenerife to the 21st century and this platform is just one more advance in that direction”.
In the same line of work, “the Code of Good Governance is also sought, a code of ethical standards that implies that we have to go beyond the participation established in the rules and laws and we have to promote real and effective participation , a direct listening to the concerns of citizens and organized groups”.
Among the data presented by Nauzet Gugliotta, it stands out that in 2021 the Cabildo reached almost 13,500 people directly or indirectly through the different participation policies developed by the current government of the Cabildo de Tenerife.
“During the pandemic we had to face the challenge of avoiding face-to-face attendance with health restrictions, but we saw the opportunity to transform participation,” he detailed.
The head of the ICT Planning and Strategies Technical Service of the Insular Directorate of Modernization, Clemente Barreto, toured the web platform that can be freely accessed.
REGISTER TO MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS
“It does not require any previous registration, as long as we want to consult. Now, if we want to participate, provide our opinion or make contributions about a process, it is necessary to make a simple registration”, he explained.
In addition, he pointed out that “the registration requirement is important for this to be a conversation, to be able to respond to those who make contributions, maintain a dialogue with all those who make proposals and clarify the issues they raise”.
Currently, www.cabildoabierto.tenerife.es A total of eight proposals are open.
“The idea is to incorporate many more in the coming days and also start a process of improvement, incorporation of new processes, new functionalities in the platform, always counting on citizen participation,” Barreto explained.
In all the open consultations, the participation period, a short description of the exposed document and the Sustainable Development Goals with which it is linked are highlighted.
The web seeks to adapt and evolve with new features, offering other levels and ways of participating and being a channel and support for other administrations.
