The commercial revitalization in Arona brings thousands of people to Las Galletas

Las Galletas recovered yesterday what is considered the most important commercial revitalization festival of those that take place in the southern region of the Island. For twelve hours, this coastal town hosted endless initiatives of animation, music, color and family. “Arona in colors has returned with more desire than ever, after two years without being able to celebrate as it deserves”, the municipal government celebrated the success of attendance at this popular meeting on a day that was marked by heat.

The commercial revitalization brings thousands of people to Las Galletas

“Thousands of people”, according to the organization (Arona Town Hall), were present at Las Galletas during the 12-hour duration of this event. “Thousands of people were able to enjoy the activities of the ninth edition of Arona in colors that takes place in a decade (in 2020 it could not take place),” adds the same organization, linked to the Department of Economic Promotion of the Aron Consistory, which told with the collaboration of the Open Commercial Zone (ZCA) of Las Galletas. There was no lack of participation from the municipal areas of Culture, Youth, Environment, Tourism, Sports and Heritage.

fourteen points

Arona in colors is a commitment to support small and medium-sized businesses in this town. Through this initiative, which has become one of the festivals that mobilizes the most public, the aim is to publicize and stimulate the commercial sphere of the popular coastal town. For this, the organization designs a program that fills the corners of Las Galletas with entertainment and incentives for fun.

The visitor finds in the locality until 14 points in which activities are carried out and were displayed throughout Las Galletas. It is the commitment to an event aimed, especially, at the whole family and which focuses on spaces such as the Dionisio González boulevard, as well as the Paulino Suances square and the streets of Belgium, José Miguel Galván Bello, Venezuela, Fernando Salazar González and the pedestrian streets.

In the Paulino Suances square, one of the most attractive stages of the program, attendees were able to enjoy Disney performances aimed at the little ones. This space also hosted concerts by renowned artists such as Los Sabandeños, Lucrecia, Pepe Benavente, Cristina Ramos and Neo Pinto. At the time, the stage located on the boulevard was used for the performances of the cultural and folk groups of the municipality, which offered “thousands of people” Canarian music and dance throughout the day.

Lots of variety

The program developed for the ninth edition of Arona in colors included workshops and activities aimed at minors, who also enjoyed and played with inflatables. Yesterday, Las Galletas had a fashion catwalk, the practice of various sports, as well as exhibitions, video games and retro machines. Likewise, there were robotics exhibitions, skateboarding exhibitions and Canarian wrestling. All this in the fourteen points enabled in the town.

Satisfaction

The mayor of Arona, José Julián Mena, underlined “the importance of the support provided by the City Council to local businesses, to that of all the nuclei of the municipality.” Aware of the difficulties that Aron SMEs are going through due to a pandemic that leaves “two very complicated years”, for Mena “seeing our neighbors enjoying a day of fun, filling the streets of Las Galletas, is a joy to all.”

The councilor Raquel García, of Economic Promotion, highlighted the consolidation of Arona in colors as “one of the great commitments to revitalize the region”, while highlighting “the great work carried out by the staff of the area to make a reality one of the most anticipated conferences by our citizens».
