Adolfo González Pérez-Siverio is already the new mayor of The Realejosreplacing Manuel Dominguez who today, June 11, has also resigned from the position of mayor in the corporation. Adolfo González was elected in a plenary session that has just ended thanks to the 15 votes of the councilors of the Popular Municipal Group.
The new realejero mayor was sworn in and received the baton at 11:10 this Saturday, June 11. His first words were of gratitude to his family, his colleagues, the municipal staff, the authorities present, the rest of the corporation and the realejeros and realejeras, whom he invited to “use the door of the Mayor’s Office, which will always be open”. He promised to continue working for “a better Realejos, of which we continue to feel proud.”
The head of the PSOE list, Miguel Agustín García, received four votes from his group. The only mayor of the CC-PNC, Isabel Pérez, was left with a single vote.
Adolfo González also had words for his predecessor in office, Manuel Domínguez, to whom he said he owes “everything I know and everything I am in politics.” He insisted on the importance of his government team, to whom he thanked for his support: “Together we are stronger.”
Regarding the municipality for which he will work from now on from the Mayor’s Office, González advocated a “diverse, tolerant, open, equitable, modern, lively and dynamic” locality.
Adolfo González has been mayor of the Los Realejos City Council since 2007. After a first term in the opposition, since 2011 he has held the first mayoralty and the spokesperson for the government group, as well as responsibility in areas such as Culture, Urban Planning, Internal Regime, Personnel, Institutional Relations, Housing, Local Development, Employment or General Services.
