The Popular Party received groups of hunters to find out their opinion on the new document of the Master Plan for Use and Management (PRUG) of the Teide National Park, on public display. The balance of the meeting from the side of the political group can be summed up in one sentence: “Less prohibitions and more management.”
Zaida González, island spokesperson, announces that they will ask the Cabildo to “defend the interests of all Tenerife residents, against the claims of Councilor Valbuena, who go through destroying the historic link of the town with Teide, as a symbol of the Island.”
The hunters announce allegations to the draft because it “qualifies the activity as incompatible with the Plan”, despite the fact that “controlled hunting fulfills a key function”.
The popular have requested the appearance of the Minister of the Natural Environment, Isabel García, to explain the position of the Cabildo.
