The Civil Guard has arrested three members of a criminal group specialized in committing robberies with force inside homes in the north of the island of Tenerife. Up to fifteen robberies with force committed since the end of 2021 are attributed to them.
Several units of the Civil Guard of the Command of Tenerife have carried out this police operation that began in February 2022. It began by carrying out an analysis of several robberies with force inside an inhabited house, concentrating the majority in regions of the north of Tenerife.
The agents obtained evidence indicating that nine of the robberies had allegedly been committed by a criminal group made up of an undetermined number of men of Spanish nationality, natives of the Island.
During the development of the investigation it was possible to determine the identity of two of the alleged perpetrators, who have a multitude of antecedents for crimes against property.
The robberies used to be carried out in the mornings, taking advantage of the absence of its inhabitants. The alleged authors carried out a study in previous days of the routines of the tenants of the houses in which they planned to carry out the robberies.
After several months of investigation, three members of the criminal group were arrested last May, including the two habitual criminals mentioned above.
In addition, a judicially authorized entry and search was carried out, in which various tools and effects stolen during criminal offenses were found.
With this action, fourteen robberies with force inside a home and one inside an establishment have been clarified by the agents, perpetrated between November 2021 and May 2022, the vast majority in the north of Tenerife.
The main members of the investigated group were arrested, but new actions are not ruled out. The operation has been directed by the Court of Instruction No. 1 of La Orotava and the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the Judicial Police Team of Puerto de la Cruz and the Investigation Areas of the Main Posts of Victoria de Acentejo, Tacoronte, Icod de los Vinos and La Orotava.
