SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 9. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Governing Council adopted today, Thursday, the agreement that ratifies the modification of the statutes of the University Consortium of the Associated Center of the National University of Distance Education (UNED) in Tenerife.
The changes introduced derive, on the one hand, from the need to incorporate the Granadilla de Abona City Council into the composition of said body, and on the other, to enable the later entry of other public administrations. Likewise, it seeks to improve the writing of the text.
In 1994, the agreement for the constitution of the Associated Center of the UNED in Tenerife was signed between the president of this entity and the rector of the UNED. In 2017, the Permanent Commission of the Governing Council of the UNED agreed to ratify these statutes, and the following year (2018), the Government of the Canary Islands ratified them for the centers associated with this university in La Palma and Tenerife.
In 2021, the plenary session of the Granadilla de Abona City Council agreed to incorporate this institution as a member of the University Consortium of the Center Associated with the UNED of Tenerife and its Governing Board, and that same year this body agreed to incorporate it as a member of the university consortium and approve the revised text of the Consortium Statutes, in addition to making room for other public institutions.
Lastly, that same year, the Governing Board of the University Consortium of the Center Associated with the UNED of Tenerife agreed to incorporate the City Council of Granadilla de Abona and set the amount of its ordinary contribution for that year, which was approved by the corporation itself. local.
