The Civil Guard has arrested two people for stealing and running over another in the La Piedra de la Rosa viewpoint, in the municipality of La Orotava, in Tenerife, as reported by the Benemérita.
The events occurred on June 5, when agents of the Civil Guard on duty received a notice from the Service Operations Center (COS) informing about a crime of robbery with violence that had just happened in a gazebo.
The alleged perpetrators of the robbery, when surprised, fled in a vehicle, running over one of the victims as they went. They drove along the TF-21 road for several hundred meters in reverse at high speed, making dangerous overtaking and putting other road users in serious danger. A motorist who observed what happened was able to follow the vehicle and its escape route and inform the Civil Guard.
Given the facts, the Central COS gave notice to all the Citizen Security patrols of the Island, and finally the patrols of the Candelaria and Güímar Posts managed to intercept the vehicle and detained its occupants.
The detainees, a man and a woman, were transferred to the police station of the Civil Guard Post of Güímar for the investigation of proceedings for the facts. The detainees and the report have been placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
