The development of the Valle San Lorenzo sports area has provided this nucleus withe a hundred new parking spaces, to which must be added the 72 that have been available to residents for months thanks to the opening of the Farmer’s Market parking lot. The latter, free of charge, is open from Monday to Friday in the morning and afternoon and on Saturday mornings.
The urbanization project of the so-called sports city of the Valley involved an investment of 1.3 million euros in recent years, within the framework of the Arona Avanza program, promoted by the mayor, José Julián Mena. In this area are the sports pavilion, the Óscar Pérez soccer field and the terreiro.
The objective of this work is to give continuity to this area, unify and facilitate its use by the residents, as well as provide Valle San Lorenzo with car parks for its inhabitants and to facilitate the transit of the commercial and restaurant area, which is a boost for the SMEs, as highlighted by Mena and the councilor for the Works area, Ruth Lorenzo, who also specifies that in recent weeks the new car parks have been delimited.
This space will have public lighting, landscaped spaces, a bus stop and a promenade adapted for the transit of people with reduced mobility.
The mayor of Arona explains that this work “is essential for the modernization and future development of Valle San Lorenzo, giving aesthetic and functional uniformity to the sports area, as well as providing parking for residents and those who come to work and shop in Valle San Lorenzo”, specifies Mena.
