The Civil Guard detects a tricked-out racing car at the Orvecame Norte Rally



Members of the Investigation and Analysis Group of the Traffic Sector of the Civil Guard of the Canary Islands (GIAT) detected irregularities in one of the vehicles that participated in the Orvecame Norte Rally 2022, in Tenerife, after verifying the documentation of the drivers and of the vehicles participating in the sporting event, on April 23.

Given the detection of various irregularities in one of the cars, checks were carried out that concluded that the original frame had been cut and another one had been welded in its place, which corresponded to a vehicle with the same characteristics.

Due to these facts, an investigation was initiated that allowed the location of a second competition vehicle owned by the same person, whose chassis number had also been manipulated with the same procedure, as well as the location of another person who had participated in the manipulation of the vehicle. and that he had participated in the sports event.

Due to these facts, the two people were investigated as alleged perpetrators of two crimes of false documents, included in article 392 of the Penal Code, facing prison sentences of six months to three years and a fine of six to twelve. months.
