Agents of the National Police They have arrested a 43-year-old man in San Bartolomé de Tirajana with a police record for similar events, as the alleged perpetrator of a scam valued at 3,000 euros, of which they have been victims at least 12 people in Gran Canaria, Lanzarote Y Tenerife.
The suspected scammer posing as a worker in the occupational risk prevention sectorrequiring the payment of various amounts for exchange of first-aid kits and signaling signs to various establishments.
The National Police has linked the detainee to scams carried out on the islands of Gran Canaria, Tenerife and Lanzarote.
The investigation began as a result of complaints from several employees of different establishments who reported that a man identified as an occupational risk prevention technician/inspector had asked them to pay amounts between 60 and 750 euros of money for the change of first-aid kits or different signaling signs.
The arrested person gained the trust of the employees and assured them that their bosses or managers were aware of their visit.
The police investigation determined that at least 12 victims recognized this person as the alleged perpetrator of the scams, after being identified by them, swindling more than 3,000 euros on the islands of Gran Canaria, Tenerife and Lanzarote.
The police operation, which is still open, so it is not ruled out that new victims appearhas been settled so far with the arrest of the alleged fraud, who was located in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana and made available to the competent judicial authority.
