The Association of Property Administrators of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is working on the creation of a Single Technical Office that manages the projects of the island’s neighborhood communities to opt for the European Recovery Funds, known as Next Generation. These items must be used to finance the integral and energetic rehabilitation of the buildings. A rehabilitation agent, in this case the Basque Patxi Pavura, will advise and coordinate the communities in the projects. Padura explains that “ours is a specific intermediation mission through the figure regulated by Royal Decree 853/2021.”
Padura explains that 80% of the homes in the Canary Islands, some 1,800 in total, that aspire to these funds “correspond to the municipality of Santa Cruz of Tenerife». On the Island there would be around 1,500, and in the capital about 1,400. More than 70 community projects who manage property administrators on the Islands – also with a large majority in Tenerife – aspire to European funds. You just need to know the call for aid. Seven autonomous communities have not defined it, including the Canary Islands.
There is already the commitment of at least 25 communities willing to participate and another 47 are in the study phase.
A few days ago, Padura gave a training to Farm administrators. She explained each of the help lines, requirements, costs that can be included and the management of subsidies. He highlighted the figure of the rehabilitation agentwhich must coordinate the projects, community agreement, hiring of works and professionals, and financing.
He noted that the owners of residential homes that reduce energy consumption may benefit from up to 60 percent of tax deductions in the income statement for the following three years.
Patxi Padura advanced that the technical office will offer specialized training, as well as tax and legal advice, in addition to processing the aid.
The PP calls for an independent body
The PP in the Cabildo calls for the creation of an independent body to help manage European funds for recovery, the so-called Next Generation. Minister Águeda Fumero states that “this is a resolution proposal, but that the island government has not finished implementing it.” The popular understand that “this body is essential to be able to manage a significant injection for economic reconstruction after the brutal crisis that resulted in the coronavirus pandemic.” Fumero highlights that “it would be a unique opportunity to work in a transversal, coordinated and transparent manner, between the different administrations involved, the private sector, and the social and economic agents”. The PP recalls that “the central government has only been able to execute 2,500 million euros of these funds, of the total of 28,000 announced by the president”
