The National Police has arrested two young people who in the early hours of this past Tuesday allegedly assaulted the home of an elderly couple in the municipality of Los Realejos, assaulted them and stole their savings.
According to the victims themselves, during the night they heard a noise that startled them while they slept and the husband, 85 years old and who recently had a pacemaker inserted, got up to see what was happening. It was then that, according to his account, he ran into two hooded men with a mask, one of them pounced on him.
Realizing that something was happening, details the Police, the woman, recently operated on her hip and also 85 years old, came out in defense of her husband armed with a stick and met the thieves, first they threatened her with a knife and then They threw her to the ground hitting her insistently.
Next, they demanded the delivery of all the money they had in the house, as they did, adds the Police.
Thanks to the collaboration of the neighbors, many of whom saw how they fled the place, members of the Local National Police Station of Puerto de la Cruz located the perpetrators, two men, aged 29 and 39, natives of the area and with a police record.
Both were arrested at their respective homes, with prior judicial authorization for entry and search and after breaking their resistance.
