SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 1 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Minister of Labor and Social Economy, Yolanda Díaz, has assured this Wednesday that the Temporary Employment Regulation Files (ERTE) will be maintained in the Canary Islands as long as the economic situation so advises.
This was stated in a press conference after having signed with the President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, the Comprehensive Employment Plan (PIEC) of 2022 in the city of Santa Cruz de La Palma.
The minister made it clear that the ERTE in the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands will be maintained “as long as they are essential”; and with this she wanted to give “certainties” to companies and workers who need it.
Yolanda Díaz indicated that work is already being done on the design of the new ERTE between the Government of Spain and the Government of the Canary Islands, and advanced that as soon as these tasks are completed, it will be announced.
In any case, he insisted that the ERTE will be maintained in the Canary Islands, since it is “the best tool, already unquestionable, for current situations such as the current ones.”
