Unfortunately for the residents who used the tables in the Parque de Las Indias, in the capital of Tenerife, there has been a new act of vandalism in Santa Cruz for which these boards have become unusable. And it is that, it is not yet known how, the upper part of these tables where many older people used to play cards in the afternoons has disappeared.
The Councilor for Public Services, Environment, Animal Welfare and Health-LaSalle District, Carlos Tarife, has been the one who has denounced these events through his Facebook account, claiming to feel “outraged” at the situation.
“You have to have no soul to remove the boards from people who play cards or dominoes,” criticized the mayor chicharrero.
It should be remembered that just a year ago the Parque de Las Indias reopened in the capital after a major reform. However, the acts of incivility in Santa Cruz make these types of public facilities less accessible.
Vandalism in Santa Cruz: it is not the first time that Parque de Las Indias has been destroyed
The mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, José Manuel Bermúdez, gave instructions in June 2021 to search for those responsible for acts of vandalism on urban furniture and plant species in the recently remodeled Parque de las Indias.
In his Twitter account, the mayor of the capital of Tenerife warned, before that act of vandalism in Santa Cruz, that it is unacceptable that acts of vandalism “of the usual, incapable of respecting what belongs to everyone” use the darkness , the night schedule, to destroy “a park like the one in Las Indias, which has cost so much to remodel with everyone’s money.”
