The SATSE union calls for the “urgent” hiring of more staff at the University Hospital of the Canary Islands

The Nursing Union, SATSE, in Tenerife, has asked the Canary Health Service to urgently hire more nurses for the University Hospital of the Canary Islands (HUC) and to authorize the payment of dubbing to those professionals who have to cover more shifts to guarantee health care.

SATSE explains in a statement that there is an urgent need to hire nurses, since the employment lists are exhausted, leaving permits and even vacation plans that are not covered due to the lack of professionals.

Thus, the management of the center has once again asked the nurses to make an effort to cover the shifts that are uncovered and ensure the care of users, according to the union.

In this sense, SATSE also requests that the payment of dubbing be authorized for nurses who, once again, will make an effort to guarantee care for users of the Canary Health Service, ceasing to enjoy their rest.

For the union, the health situation has caused moments of enormous care conflict as a result of the shortage of nursing professionals.
