SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 31 May. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The President of the Senate, Ander Gil, visited the University of La Laguna on Tuesday to approach Law and Social Sciences and Communication students to explain the operation of the bicameral system, delve into its operation and, ultimately, offer a closer image of the Chamber of territorial representation.
The Burgos politician valued municipal politics, close to the citizens, as the best exponent of public service to society, in collaboration with all the institutions. At his hearing he was accompanied by the rector, Rosa Aguilar, and the two deans, in addition to the senator for Lanzarote Manuel Fajardo.
The President of the Senate is visiting the Canary Islands because tomorrow in La Palma he will sign a declaration with the Government of the Canary Islands and the Island Council for the implementation of a mental health program for which the Senate donates a million euros.
As part of this visit, he participated yesterday in the institutional act to commemorate the Day of the Canary Islands, held at the Guimerá Theater in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and this morning he was received at the Parliament of the Canary Islands by its president, Gustavo Matos.
