SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 31 May. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the insular direction of Tourism, has approved putting out to public tender the contract for the execution of the work to recover the Las Eras beach breakwater, in Fasnia, an action for which it has been approved an investment of 517,900 euros.
The objective of the works is not only to repair the structure but also to reinforce it and make it more solid so that it can better withstand the ravages of the sea. For this, its reconstruction is contemplated to guarantee the safety of the users.
The island’s director of Tourism, Laura Castro, explains in a note that “over time the breakwater has been affected by the waves and this improvement action was necessary to shelter the bathers who enjoy the bathing area” .
Thus, it indicates that “one of the priorities of the Cabildo is to carry out this type of improvement projects on the island’s coastline, whose work is of vital importance for the municipalities and to continue valuing the tourist image with quality infrastructure and services” .
Castro adds that this work will bring “benefits” for the economic development of the municipalities with which the Cabildo has been collaborating.
These actions are part of the ‘Tenerife and the Sea’ programme, within the strategic framework for island development of the Medi-Fdcan funds, from which investment actions are managed for the improvement of the island’s coastline under the principles of territorial balance , sustainability and solidarity.
