The Canary Institute of Hemodonation and Hemotherapy (ICHH)dependent on the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islandsmakes an urgent notice to the population so that they go to donate blood due to the significant drop in the stock levels of all blood groups, especially A+ and O+, so as not to compromise hospital activity.
The ICHH recalls that blood donation is a fundamental pillar for the normal functioning of the health system and that in the Canary Islands 300 daily blood donations are needed to attend to both scheduled hospital activity and emergencies, which require blood transfusions or blood products from the different blood groups. At the moment, groups A+ and O+ are the most requested.
The ICHH It has already implemented the usual timely corrective measures, addressing via SMS the blood donors of these groups registered in its databases and reinforcing mass warnings through its social networks.
Requirements
To donate blood you can go directly or you can request an appointment by calling 012 or 922 470 012 / 928 301 012 (option 8), from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. or by filling in the form published on the cover of the web effect donacion.com.
