Arrested for impersonating another person in the theory test of the driving license

Members of the Investigation and Analysis Group of the Traffic Sector (GIAT) of the Canary Islands Civil Guard have proceeded to arrest a person during the theory test to obtain a driving license for impersonating another person. For this, the Provincial Traffic Headquarters of Santa Cruz de Tenerife collaborated.

The events occurred at the beginning of May in the examination room of the Provincial Traffic Headquarters during the theoretical examination to obtain a class B driving license. One of the applicants identified herself with a Permanent Residence Card. , which raised suspicions about the veracity of his identity.

At the end of the test, the necessary checks were carried out, verifying that this person did not correspond to the one who was summoned to take the exam. As a result of these facts, an investigation was launched that made it possible to ascertain the whereabouts of the impersonated person, who had presumably hired the services of the detainee to impersonate her during the examination.

Both people have been investigated as perpetrators of an alleged crime of false documents, included in article 392 of the Penal Code, for which they can face prison sentences of six months to three years and a fine of six to twelve months. These behaviors pose a serious danger to road safety, by trying to obtain a driving license fraudulently, lacking the necessary theoretical knowledge, concludes the Civil Guard.
