SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 28 May. (EUROPE PRESS) –
Salvamento Marítimo has rescued a boat in which 70 migrants were traveling, all sub-Saharan, heading to the Canary Archipelago, according to sources from the public body.
The inflatable type boat was located stopped shortly before five in the afternoon by the Sasemar 103 plane, which had been mobilized by the Maritime Rescue Control Center in Las Palmas.
The salvamar ‘Al Nair’ headed towards the position where the boat was located and, after six in the afternoon, proceeded to rescue the 70 people who were on board, 54 men and 16 women.
After this rescue, the salvamar is currently heading towards a second possible sighting of another boat.
