SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 28 May. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The flavors of La Gomera are the stars this Sunday at the 1st Gastronomic Festival Día de Canarias, which is being held at the San Sebastián Visitor Centre. The event, promoted by the Island Council, includes in its program children’s activities, musical performances and gastronomic sessions of tasting and tasting of agri-food products from the Island.
This conference will serve to value the virtues of the zero kilometer products that are produced on the Island and promote their consumption, based on their use in different dishes and gastronomic formulas that will be exhibited by renowned chefs from La Gomera. To this will be added actions to spread the variety and agri-food quality with an eye on avant-garde cuisine.
The Festival will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the opening of the venue and the start of children’s activities. From 12:00 noon will be the official opening with a demonstration of the Gomeran whistle, which will give way, at 1:00 p.m., to a training and tasting by Hecansa.
At 2:00 p.m. there will be a musical performance, to continue with a showcooking by Ancor Sánchez, with a session on gastronomic innovation with palm honey. At 3:45 p.m. there will be training on cocktails with local products by Hecansa and, from 4:50 p.m., Fabián Mora will carry out a showcooking of tradition and avant-garde gastronomy with the almogrote. Finally, at 5:25 p.m., the program will close with a wine and cheese tasting by Hecansa.
In addition, there will be a space dedicated to agri-food products with the collaboration of the company Guarapo, the Regulatory Council of the DO of La Gomera, Mermeladas Perenquén, Conservas Smokehouse and Miel de Palma el Abuelo, next to the Layla craft beer stand.
