Commitment to find housing for the ‘squatters’ of the San Isidro building

The council undertakes to acquire housing for the 48 families that occupy the Tabaiba building in San Isidro (Granadilla). It is the unanimous agreement of the plenary at the initiative of Sí Podemos Canarias. Its spokesperson, María José Belda, appreciates the support of the political groups to achieve the measure.

The institutional agreement commits the government group to carry out, immediately, the procedures aimed at the rapid acquisition of homes in the San Isidro area with similar characteristics to those of the building, or even, if possible, the purchase of this same property. . All this with the aim of attending to the housing emergency situation.

The agreement adopted contemplates that if for the subsequent adjudication of the houses it is necessary to verify the situation of vulnerability, Reports and other documentation will be requested from the competent institutions. It has also been agreed to start, urgently, the study of the most suitable legal formula to guarantee the access of neighbors to the basic right to the supply of drinking water. This will be the first investment among the four million euros that the group has managed to allocate in the insular budget to acquire social rental housing.

Cristo González, from Sí Podemos Canarias, asked the Minister of the Natural Environment, Isabel García, about an alleged elimination of endemic flora (cardons) in Adeje. The answer is that “the technical reports are followed”. ●
