‘Arona in colors’ returns with 12 hours of fun to Las Galletas

Arona in colors is 12 hours of music, traditions, fashion, beauty, technology, exhibitions, Carnival, sports and crafts, among other things. A day of commercial revitalization for Las Galletas that reaches its tenth edition (after the break in 2020, due to the pandemic) after adding up to 20,000 attendees. It will take place on Saturday, June 11, from 12:00.

The mayor, José Julián Mena; The councilor for Economic Promotion, Raquel García, and the president of the Open Commercial Zone of Las Galletas, Ana Luisa Delgado, yesterday presented this event that returns to full normality. It will feature Los Gofiones, who will participate in the Festival of Folklore and Traditions, together with the groups of the municipality, which will have a prominent role, in the same way as those of a choreographic and sports type and the institutes of Los Cristianos, Las Galletas and Cabo White.

The Paulino Suances and Dionisio González squares will host the two main stages. In number 1, the municipal and musical choreographic groups and the IES Las Galletas will perform; in 2 the local folkloric groups will do it (Verodal, Herederos de Chasna, Escuela de Folklore de Arona, Punta de Rasca and I’Gara), in addition to Los Gofiones. The six themed areas will be Belgium street, for fashion and beauty, with catwalk, makeup, hairdressing, bodypainting and poster exhibition; the technological one, on Venezuela street, with workshops for young people; the children’s, on Galván Bello street, with workshops, inflatables and characters; that of exhibitions and participation in the Carnival; the sports one will be on Fernando Salazar González street, with calisthenics, exhibitions by municipal groups or BMX, skateboarding, taekwondo, boxing and zumba; and the craft fair, on Avenida Dionisio González. This is complemented by the animations that will pass through the pedestrian areas of Las Galletas.

The mayor, José Julián Mena, and the councilor for Economic Promotion, Raquel García, stressed the importance of supporting “the constant work of the commercial and restaurant sector, hand in hand with the commercial area, a support in which Arona in colors plays a fundamental role that we want to see grow as a catalyst for SMEs in Las Galletas.” The president of the ZCA of Las Galletas, Ana Luisa Delgado, stressed that she hopes that Arona en Colores will be “the turning point of the return to normality, placing Las Galletas in its rightful place.”

Tomorrow, the Sabandeños

The Infanta Leonor Auditorium will host, at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow, the concert by Los Sabandeños, on the occasion of Canary Islands Day. Organized by Fiestas, invitations (maximum of four per person) can be purchased through www.arona.org/auditorio. At the end, the magicians’ dance will be held outside the Cultural Center of Los Cristianos, organized by the Culture Board and the Festival Area.
