Arrested for introducing drugs through the parcel service in Tenerife

The Customs Surveillance Service and the Civil Guard have arrested two people whom they accuse of introducing marijuana into Tenerife through the parcel service.

The first intervention took place on April 28, when a package was identified at the Tenerife North airport that, according to what was declared, was carrying car parts, but actually contained 25 kilos of hashish inside.

The investigators proceeded to set up a device to identify the owner of the package, who turned out to be a resident of Gran Canaria, from where he had traveled by plane that morning to pick up the package. When the suspect was about to leave Tenerife by boat, he was intercepted and he was arrested.

The second intervention took place on May 13, when an individual of British nationality who had been on vacation in Adeje (Tenerife) since the beginning of April was identified and arrested.

The investigators verified that, during that period, the suspect took the opportunity to introduce, through postal parcel shipments from countries such as the United Kingdom and the United States, various quantities of marijuana buds that reached a total weight of more than five kilos.

This drug was sent to his vacation home to, supposedly, proceed to its distribution.
