La Orotava recovers traditional games

The The Staircase Cultural Collective will revitalize one more year, and there are already 20, the Plaza de la Constitución in La Orotavawith traditional games and toys workshops, to celebrate the Day of the Canary Islands.

Thus, on the morning of May 30, between 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., you can enjoy games such as the sack race, the rope, the ring, the shuffleboard, the spinning top, bowling alleys, wooden wheelbarrows, roller carts, pole carts, wooden skateboards… There will also be a kite-making workshop to then fly them from the upper part of the enclosure. It will be a popular and participatory act by adults, youth and children.

In addition, a didactic exhibition of photographs related to traditional games and toys will be shown, which in the future may be carried by the educational centers of the municipality. The exhibition has the collaboration of the Department of Fiestas.

On the other hand, the Teobaldo Power auditorium will host at 12:00 noon, the extraordinary concert on the occasion of the Day of the Canary Islands, by the Youth Band of the Orotava Musical Association and the Orotava Musical Association (AMO). Admission is completely free without invitation, until full capacity is reached.
