The International Ocean Film Tour disembarks in the Canary Islands to share true stories, exciting tales of the world of the oceans on the big screen, adventures at sea, also about the environment. After two tough years of the pandemic with many restrictions and “half gas” capacity, the benchmark international festival for ocean lovers returns for the fourth time in a row, which can be enjoyed in premiere galas at the Guiniguada Theater in the capital of Gran Canaria on June 8, coinciding with International Oceans Day, and at the Guimerá Theater in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on July 14.
This volume 8 will feature five documentaries with a program of 120 minutes of projections with a selection of five pieces from three continents, with documentaries from Canada, Germany, Australia, France and Denmark. The International Ocean Film Tour, in its fourth year in Spain and after 16 in Europewill pass through 18 cities in the country, in a firm commitment to the Canary Islands, a community allied to the sea and a place of reference for lovers of the ocean.
The International Ocean Film Tour embarks in 2022 on a new journey in its goal of offering stories that are motivation for adventurers and enthusiasts, with exceptional protagonists, landscapes, and with the wildest and most unknown corners of the planet as a setting. The festival selects the best works that then arrive in the Canary Islands at the hands of Kinema Producciones in order to promote the protection, defense and conservation of the oceans in the Canary archipelago and advance in the challenge of caring for the environment and conserving it in the environment and long term. The Canary Islands not only have one of the best climates in the world, but also an exceptional biodiversity that is urgently needed to be protected.
Inspiring stories with the sea as the protagonist
From Canada, the documentary Shobe Surf tells a story about equality, rights, and surfing as a tool for a better world.
