Santiago del Teide is preparing to celebrate Canary Islands Day and, for this, the City Council has presented the program with all the events that will take place from May 27 to 30. For this reason, during these three days there will be musical shows and events of the traditions of our islands.
On Friday, May 27, the events will begin at Playa de La Arena, starting at 6:30 p.m. with a parade by the Tayme Folkloric Group.
On Sunday, May 29, there will be a Festival of the Day of the Canary Islands from 8:00 p.m. in the Plaza de Puerto de Santiago in which the Canarian Dance Workshops of Santiago del Teide, the Roots of Santiago del Teide Cultural and Folkloric Association, the Municipal School of Folklore of Santa Cruz de la Palma, and the Magec Cultural Folklore Association.
Lastly, on Monday, May 30, Canary Islands Day, the Plaza de Puerto de Santiago will receive different activities from 9:00 in the morning that will take place during the course of the day. The Agro-Artisan Fair will begin, which will end at 6:00 p.m.
In addition, traditional workshops will be held, by the hands of Talleres Patrimonio Sur, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., among which we can highlight the whistled language, the shepherd’s jump, and many more. Starting at 7:00 p.m., there will be a “Canary Islands Day” Concert where the Municipal Music Band of Santiago del Teide will perform and, to end the day, starting at 8:00 p.m., the Scenic Laboratory will delight us with its Tarascan show.
