The Cabildo de Tenerife has approved this Tuesday, in the Governing Council, the bases and the call for a line of aid for the promotion and improvement of the commercialization of local agri-food products destined for the internal market, endowed with a budget of 98,810 euros.
The island councilor for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Javier Parrilla, explains in a note that the objective of these subsidies is “to promote and promote short marketing channels through agricultural markets”, which allows technical and economic support to continue. to the agrarian associations linked to the direct sale of Tenerife.
Specifically, the aid, which will be awarded by competitive bidding, seeks to increase the competitiveness and added value of processed products on the island, by improving quality, diversification and presentation, “which makes it possible for farmers access a wider range of commercial channels.
Entities on the island that manage agricultural markets whose purpose is to market, produce or transform local agri-food products may benefit.
Among the eligible expenses are the analysis of residues of phytosanitary products (up to 1,000 euros per entity), small infrastructure and equipment (up to 4,000 euros) and other non-inventoriable expenses related to the promotion and improvement of marketing (up to 3,000 euros), in such a way that each entity may receive a maximum of 8,000 euros.
For the granting of these subsidies, the directly benefited agricultural area will be taken into account, the parity between men and women, the accreditations as ecological productions, and the number of farmers who sell their products in each market, “whose minimum has been reduced from six to three to benefit the little ones”, explains Parrilla.
The deadline for submitting applications will be twenty business days from the day following the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP).
