Pascual González, who currently resides in Cross portwas a very versatile man: mayor, councilor, chronicler, writer, painter, draftsman, teacher, sculptor, heraldist, leader of the CD Gara and the Tenerife Football Federation, and collaborator in the press and radio.

His artistic imprint will be forever in Garachico, as he is the author of the monument to Simon Bolivarof the monolith of the 75th anniversary of the granting of the title of Villa, of the commemorative obelisk of the third centenary of the Garachico volcanic eruption, of the monolith of the fourth centenary of the invocation of San Roque and his commemorative medal, and the sculptures Pez and Pescadera, also in the Villa and Puerto. In addition, he was the designer of commemorative medals and logos for entities such as the Commonwealth of the North of Tenerife or the City Council of Santiago del Teide.
In his brief career as head of his native municipality, he achieved milestones such as the conditioning of the natural pools of El Caletonthe creation of the Center for Initiatives and Tourism (CIT), the first phase of the maritime avenue, the arrival of electricity to The Mountainthe asphalting plan for the streets of Garachico, the reform of the castle square, the second phase of the restoration of the castle of San Miguel, the start of work on the municipal swimming pool or the reconstruction of the soccer field, destroyed by a storm in 1966.
The current mayor of Garachico, Jose Heriberto Gonzalez (CC), underlines that «he was an extraordinary person, affable, always ready to collaborate with Garachico in whatever way he could. He gave his art for free to the City Council on many occasions. In his farewell we must highlight his tireless desire to collaborate with this municipality ». The municipality plans to pay him a posthumous tribute soon.
