The first edition of Arafo sets the pace and culminates today with the Trade Fair in the Plaza de San Juan, after five days of activity with trade and crafts in the music sector as protagonists. The second day of this fair will remain open today from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Music will be present with the duos Héctor Artiles and Alfred and Ferreiro & Chaick.
Knowing what the municipality has and consuming local products is one of the objectives of this 1st Arafo Trade Fair, says Víctor Mesa, Councilor for Commerce. “Beyond the sales that take place at the fair itself, our purpose is to establish direct contact between consumers and establishments for possible subsequent purchases throughout the rest of the year,” he concluded.
The mayor, Juan Ramón Martín, explains that the City Council wants to create, with Arafo bread, pastries, cheeses and wines, its own gastronomic festival in which not only the neighbors participate, but also those who visit the municipality on a daily basis, giving to know the offer of local products.
The alderman also states that for Arafo, «music is an inexhaustible source of inspiration. There are many projects that are developed both by the City Council and at the proposal of musical-cultural institutions, private entities, professionals and fans of this discipline.
Juan Ramón Martín calls to come today through the Plaza de San Juan. “The finishing touch will be with the participation of confectionery, bakery, cheese establishments, as well as several wineries,” adds the mayor.
This week there have been exhibitions of instruments and workshops and talks given by the official Arafo chronicler, Febe Fariña Pestano. In addition, Arafo sets the pace had pairing actions and performances by all the local groups in the Plaza de San Juan and surrounding areas, the Auditorium, the Casona de Secundino Delgado, the Casino Unión y Progreso and the Cultural and Recreational Center .
