The City Council of Puerto de la Cruz announces the rehabilitation of the square attached to the Municipal Market, a work that will have a budget of 149,457 euros. The works include raising the pavement, placing a compacted gravel base and correcting the slopes to improve the installation of rainwater –with a drainage pipe to the sewer–, demolition, masonry, locksmith, gardening, pre-installation of the lighting system , sanitation, irrigation, waterproofing and painting. The current pavement of the square will be replaced by another with asphalt, polymers, acrylic resins and paint. All in order to harmonize and facilitate transit and stay in the square.
The municipal government is working on a comprehensive renovation project for the Municipal Market car park and on modernizing and adapting the bathrooms on the main floor, including a toilet designed for people with an ostomy. Improvements are also made to the image of the interior spaces of the facility, such as the renewal of the glass in the corridors for greater visibility of the commercial premises, products and services.
“We continue to work in search of excellence in a Municipal Market that aspires to be a benchmark for merchants who offer their products and services, promoting that kilometer zero that must be part of the offer of a modern market adapted to the times”, stressed the mayor. Marco Gonzalez. The square should be “that meeting place in the San Felipe-El Tejar neighborhood,” according to mayor Roberto Medina.
