SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 16 May. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Foreign Action area, and the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, have held several work meetings in Mauritania in order to strengthen cooperation channels and promote training opportunities for entrepreneurship, among other projects.
The CEO of Foreign Action, Liskel Álvarez, explained that a meeting has been held with the president of the Mauritanian Chamber of Commerce, Ahmed Baba Ould Eleya, together with the general secretary, Wane Abdoul Azis, “which has served to discover the needs training activities of the entity that has just signed a collaboration agreement with the chamber institutions of Tenerife and Gran Canaria, to strengthen lines of cooperation in training and entrepreneurship”.
At the meeting, he indicated in a note, “the possibility of offering Canarian trainers was raised as a way to promote the internationalization of Canarian training companies.”
In addition, Liskel Álvarez pointed out that they want to strengthen commercial relations between the island and the Mauritanian country “to continue promoting companies that want to open up to this market.”
Among the training actions from the Cabildo, he highlighted that an online training course for entrepreneurship has been given to Mauritanian women and financed through the mentorDay platform.
“It is the first training course that is taught 100% online in the field of entrepreneurship in Mauritania”, highlighted the CEO, who delivered the accrediting diplomas to the five students who completed their training by presenting their business projects.
For Liskel Álvarez, “they will serve as an example for other women who want to undertake and overcome the barriers of digitization, as an opportunity to grow through digital platforms.”
The CEO is on an institutional visit to Mauritania this Monday and tomorrow, Tuesday, with the aim of continuing to strengthen relations between Tenerife and this country, and learn more about the actions being carried out by the Cabildo, such as projects of territorial cooperation Interreg Mac or the female entrepreneurship program, among others, in the field of training and education, as well as in cooperation and development.
The work agenda has also included a meeting with the head of cooperation of the EU delegation in Mauritania, Madeleine Onclin, to seek synergies to execute possible joint initiatives.
