The City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria expressed its condemnation and strongest rejection against gender-based violence at noon this past Friday, during the concentration held at the entrance of the Municipal Offices on the occasion of the murder of a woman who was allegedly a victim of violence of gender in the Tenerife municipality of Arona.
In the act, which has been attended by a wide representation of the Municipal Corporation, as well as public employees of the consistory and citizens in general, a respectful minute of silence has been observed outside the City Hall as a sign of rejection towards any manifestation of sexist violence.
The Consistory has thus transmitted a unanimous message of condemnation, calling on society to eradicate this type of incident.
