The City Hall of Santa Cruz de Tenerife will apply discounts, between 42% and 65%, of the rates for the installation of bars, fair stalls and restaurants in the Carnival due to the reduction of the days of street parties in this 2022 edition.
The local corporation details in a statement that the deadline to request the installation of bar counters and the fair’s stalls will open this Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the publication of regulations and the registration to access the auction of the traditional Carnival restoration stalls, which will take place on June 7 in the Cajasiete Assembly Hall, will open this Wednesday.
Restaurants in Carnival
The call for bars, with a 65% reduction in rates, is aimed at bars, restaurants and cafes located in the area known as ‘Carnival Quadrangle‘, which is offered the possibility of expanding its facilities by placing a bar, which can only be enjoyed during the days of the Carnival in the street, scheduled between June 23 and 26.
The owners of the interested restaurants must provide, among other documents, a copy of the business opening license, together with the civil liability insurance and the receipt of the policy.
They will also add a location map of the premises and a proposal for the location of the bar.
Likewise, it will be necessary to provide a design or scheme of the extra sound installation, indicating the amount of watts that is intended to be used.
This proportionality in the reduction of rates, which in this case will be around 42%, also applies to the stalls of the traditional fair that will be located next to the interchange, between June 17 and 26.
People who are interested in participating in this offer will have at their disposal both the registration forms and the regulatory standards through the website www.carnavaltenerife.com.
In these regulations, the rates are established according to their location, as well as the certificates and the technical and administrative documentation that must be provided for the concession of the service.
The regulation includes the obligations of the concessionaires in terms of dates and times of enjoyment, in addition to the cleaning and conditions of installation of these elements. The registration and registration period will end on May 23.
The Councilor for Festivities of the City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Alfonso Cabello, indicates in a statement that the restaurant, leisure and hotel industry “have gone through very delicate times, and this opportunity with reduced rates represents a municipal effort that It will encourage participation.
The mayor stresses that this initiative “democratizes the participation of our entrepreneurs and freelancers in the economic engine of the Carnival, in addition to promoting the generation of employment.”
Carnival 2022 will start on June 3 with the opening gala of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival and will hit the streets on the last weekend of June.
On Friday, the 24th, the traditional Carnival Announcement Cavalcade will be held, which will give way to a weekend of dances in the streets and squares of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
